The Majestic Display Of Peacock
The peacock is well known for it's colorful feather's display, which it often shows off in a magnificient display. A peafowl appearence varies slightly depending upon the species. The indian peacock has very flashly plumage, with a bright blue head and neck, which they used to attract a mate. The peacocks are famous for their upper tail feathers. These feathers are metallic green. There are three species of peacock: Blue peacock, Green peacock and Congo peacock.
Habitat
The peacocks both blue and green inhabit open lowland forests, as well as farm and in agricultural area. They can be found in both tropical and dry habitats. Even in their natural range, these birds roam in cities and parks in search of food. The blue peacock live in India and Sri Lanka, While the green peacock is found in Java and Myanmar. The more distinct and little specie of peacock, Congo peacock inhabits African rain forests. The blue peacock is admired by humans as a pet since Thousand's of years.
Peacock's Most Iconic Feature
The most iconic feature of peacock is their colorful feathers that shows very charming and distinctive look. The peacock feather is often associated with Lord Krishna because of it's radiant colours and colourful pattern in air. The peacock feathers are also associated as symbol of royality and power. Peacock's are known for their stunning beauty and graceful demeanor. The male peacock striking tail feather's, adorned with irridescent hues, create as mesmerizing display during courtship ritual's. The tail of peacock's take several years to fully grow. By the age of three year's, they were fully plumage and sexually mature. The tail may continue to grow for another 2 or 3 years. Males will molt and lose their tail feathers each year in summer.
Breeding
Female pea cock will choose that which male is large have more colorful tail and often focus on the lower portion of the train. To signal acceptance, the pea hen will crouch down on the ground and the pea cock will perform what's known as the ''Hoot Dash'', rushing toward's the peahen with a loud call. After each mating season the male shed their tail coverts to grew new one. Males are known as polygamous because they mate with many pea hens. Then female lay clutches of three to six eggs, which they incubates for 29 days with no help from the male.
