Flightless Parrot
Kakapo are known as flightless parrot. There are some other bird's that can't fly like kiwi, ostriches, dodo, etc. They are ground dwelling and found on few island's of New Zealand. They are largest and heaviest specie of parrot on land. Their weight is about 4 to 5 kilogram. They can't fly but they have very strong leg's that help them to travel very large distance. The kakapo's cant fly but they use their wings as a parachute while descending down from treetop's to ground floor.
Habitat
Kakapo's like to live in protected forest's santuaries (a place where birds and animals are protected and safe from predator's and hunter's), that offer natural vegetation. Now a days kakapo's are founded only in offshore island's of New Zealand. They have very large long lifespan. The largest record is 120 years. They have less predator's that's why they live much longer then other species of parrot's. They are also well hider. They are also friendly.

Physical Abilities
They are special whisker's, like facial feather for feeling in the dark. They have highly developed sense of smell. They have unique musky odour which help them to find one another. They are the only lek-breeding species in world. They are longest living bird on Earth, estimated to reach 90 year. Smaller female's reach 1.4 kg and male's 2.2 kg. They can pile 1 kg of fat prior to a breeding season. Each Kakapo has it's own personality from friendly to grumpy or just plain aloof. Some are cheeky and play ful and some are explorer's.
