In many cultures lady bugs are considered as Symbol of good luck. Many of people special childrens like them because they are pretty and harmless to humans. They play an important rle in agriculture and farmers love them because they eat aphids and other plant eating pests. One lady bug can eat 5000 insects in their life time. Lady bug are one of the insect that have 5000 or more species.
Habitat
Lady bug founded in almost many habitats like grass land, forests, cities, suburbs and across river. Lady bugs are most active from spring until fall. Aphids are favourite food of lady bugs. Lady bugs also lay eggs near colonies of aphids.
Lady bug Species
There are 5000 different species of lady bug. each has different clour and different pattern. These much lovely critters are known as lady beetles or lady bird beetle. The most familiar and most attractive lady bug is seven spotted red and black lady bug. They are most attractive due to their shiny red and black body. Lady bugs have three eyes but can't see very well.
Abilities Of Lady Bug
Almost all lady beetles prey. They prey on larvae and adult's and on soft bodied pests like aphids, mites and scales. One beetle can consume 5000 or more pests in their life. They can control even large infestation of pests. Lady bug have extraordinary ability that sets them special from other insects. Lady bug hane special power to smell with their feet and antenna. Lady beetle have special organs in their feet that allow them to detect scent.
Lady bug Anatomy
Thwe head houses the aldy bug mouth's parts, compund eyes and antenna. The thorax has three pairs of legs and two pairs of wings. The first pair of wing is hardened elytra that protects the flying wings under neath. When the lady bug takes flight, the elytra open, and the thin veined wings unfold. The lady bug belongs to the family Coccinellidae which have 5000 species world wide. The most attractive and most recognizable feature of lady beetle is their colorful elytra that has various colors and patterns. beneath these shells lady bugs have small wings which help them to cover small distances in search of food and mate.
